Health Lab Access to Newborn Screening Results…
Registered users of the
State Laboratory of Public Health Web site will have access to newborn
screening results for all babies born in North Carolina.
- If you were listed as
the baby’s health care provider or the submitter on the newborn screening
specimen, you may continue to search by baby’s last name and date of
birth.
- If you were NOT LISTED
as the baby’s health care provider or the submitter on the newborn
screening specimen, you may search by the baby’s last name and date of
birth and request a transfer or you may fill in the two additional
fields (Mother’s Last Name, Mother’s First Name) and find the baby’s
results immediately.
- Direct problems or
questions to Newborn Screening/Clinical Chemistry at (919) 733-3937.
- To request user access
to the WEB site, go to the State Lab link at
https://slph.state.nc.us/lims
For those pediatricians
have no access to the Internet, the State Lab will accept faxes, requiring
the following information faxed:
Baby's last name
Baby's birth date
Mother's last name and
first name
Birthing hospital
Mailing address and phone
number of pediatrician’s office
Upon receiving the fax, we
will send baby's result by mail. Since "snail mail" takes time, the State
Lab requests that pediatricians plan ahead. As always, the State Lab will
give out the results by phone only under emergency situation.
The State Lab fax number
is (919) 715-8610.
