PUBLIC HEALTH CONNECTIONS
Pediatricians and
public health agencies are natural allies in supporting the health and
well-being of children and youth in North Carolina. The Women’s and
Children’s Health Section is launching Public Health Connections to help
inform pediatricians about how N.C. Division of Public Health
initiatives can assist physicians in their efforts to optimally serve
their patients. Each issue of Public Health Connections will feature an
article about an issue or a public health program we feel will be useful
to you in your practice. We will aim to raise awareness and
promote collaboration between pediatricians and the Division of Public
Health as a means of achieving our shared goal of supporting children
and families across the state. We also invite you to send feedback to
Dr. Gerri Mattson, Pediatric Medical Consultant for the Children and
Youth Branch, N.C. Division of Public Health at
gerri.mattson@ncmail.net.
