Your contributions help support the health and well-being of children across North Carolina. By giving to the North Carolina Pediatric Society Foundation, you are creating opportunities for more advocacy efforts, research and dissemination, and collaborations among Pediatricians, child advocacy organizations, and state agencies that will better serve the physical and mental health needs of children in our state.

·    Securing unique dental coverage and benefits for special needs children under Health Choice, the North Carolina State Children’s Health Insurance Plan (SCHIP) 

·    Expanding mental health benefits for children covered by Medicaid and SCHIP 

·    Promoting the enrollment of uninsured children in Medicaid and SCHIP 

·    Promoting research on children’s health through the AAP’s Pediatric Research in Office Settings (PROS) program 

·    Collaborating with NC Academy of Family Physicians, the NC Division of Medical Assistance and the UNC Schools of Dentistry and Public Health in the implementation of Into the Mouths of Babes—training physicians to do an oral screening and apply dental varnish to prevent early childhood caries
