NCPS Practice Manager Section Job Descriptions
Current Chairs
 

Chair: the Chair of the Practice Manager’s Section of the North Carolina Pediatric Society is responsible for the overall leadership for the Section’s members. Duties include agenda develop for and facilitating the Executive Committee and semi-annual meetings. The Chair is responsible for keeping the staff of the NCPS apprised of any Section activities or plans as well as coordinating activities within the Section itself.

Chair-elect: the Chair-elect of the Practice Manager’s Section of the North Carolina Pediatric Society is responsible for providing leadership for the Section members. Duties include facilitating Executive Committee in the absence of the Chair and assistance in conducting the semi-annual meetings. The Chair-elect assists in the agenda development for meetings and coordinates with the various Chairs of the Executive Committee for reports of their activities.

Past Chair of the Practice Manager’s Section of the North Carolina Pediatric Society primarily provides guidance to the members of the Executive Committee in their planning efforts.

Secretary/Treasurer of the Practice Manager’s Section of the North Carolina Pediatric Society assists the Chair in corresponding with the members of the Section as needed. Duties include taking minutes at all Executive Committee and general meetings and providing a copy of these minutes to the staff of the NCPS and appropriate members of the Section, assisting the staff of the NCPS in collecting dues from members of the Section, and tracking any funds accumulated by the members of the Section and reporting on such when requested.

Membership Chair of the Practice Manager’s Section of the North Carolina Pediatric Society provides overall leadership to the Membership subcommittee of the Executive Committee. Duties include recruitment of Section members for the subcommittee, agenda development and coordination of the subcommittee meetings, reporting on subcommittee activities when requested, annual and periodic correspondence with Section members and potential new managers for membership retention, and periodic contact with the staff of the NCPS to identify potential new members for recruitment purposes.

Programming Chair of the Practice Manager’s Section of the North Carolina Pediatric Society provides overall leadership to the Programming subcommittee of the Executive Committee. Duties include recruitment of Section members for the subcommittee, agenda development and coordination of the subcommittee meetings, reporting on subcommittee activities when requested, development of the agenda for general meetings, assisting the staff of the NCPS in recruitment of speakers for the meetings, and assisting the speakers during the general meetings (ie-handouts, etc).

Communication Chair of the Practice Manager’s Section of the North Carolina Pediatric Society provides overall leadership to the Communication subcommittee of the Executive Committee. Duties include recruitment of Section members for the subcommittee, agenda development and coordination of the subcommittee meetings, reporting on subcommittee activities when requested, providing information concerning activities to the staff of the NCPS for Section promotion, and assisting the Secretary of the Section in any written communication with the general membership.

Nominations Chair  of the Practice Manager’s Section of the North Carolina Pediatric Society provides overall leadership to the Nominations subcommittee of the Executive Committee. Duties include recruitment of Section members for the subcommittee, agenda development and coordination of the subcommittee meetings, reporting on subcommittee activities when requested, providing information concerning activities to the staff of the NCPS, develop a slate of officers to be presented at the Annual Meeting of the NCPS, provide leadership in the voting process at the Annual Meeting, and assist the new officers in any manner possible to make a smooth transition.

Legislative Chair of the Practice Manager’s Section of the North Carolina Pediatric Society provides overall leadership to the Legislative subcommittee of the Executive Committee. Duties include recruitment of Section members for the subcommittee, agenda development and coordination of the subcommittee meetings, reporting on subcommittee activities when requested, providing information concerning activities to the staff of the NCPS, monitoring legislative activities at the state and national level, and work with the staff of the NCPS to develop platform issues and associated materials to discuss with provider membership as well as legislative representatives.
