NC PEDIATRIC SOCIETY ANNOUNCES RECIPIENTS OF 2016 PEDIATRIC INDUSTRY AWARDS

NCPeds to present awards at its 2016 Annual Meeting

 

Raleigh, N.C. — The North Carolina Pediatric Society (NCPeds) today announced the recipients of its 2016 awards for pediatric excellence. The awards will be presented at a luncheon on Aug. 20 during the 2016 NCPeds Annual Meeting.

 

NCPeds will present awards to the following individuals for their contributions to child health and well-being in North Carolina.

Denny, Katz, Simon, Tingelstad Academic Service Award

Charles Willson, MD, FAAP

Department of Pediatrics, East Carolina University

 

Good for Kids Award

Carrie Theall

Alamance Partnership for Children

 

Tom Vitaglione Child Health Advocacy Award

Greg Griggs, MPA, CAE

North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians

 

James D. Bernstein Excellence in Public Service Award

Sandy Terrell, MS, RN

North Carolina Division of Medical Assistance (DMA)

NC Department of Health and Human Services.

 

Steve Shore Service Award

Kenya McNeal-Trice, MD, FAAP

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine

 

In addition, Tom Vitaglione, MPH, will receive the national American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Child Health Advocate Award during the conference.

 

The 2016 NCPeds Annual Meeting will be held Aug. 19-21 at the Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst. The event will also feature continuing education sessions.
