We are equally dedicated to NCPeds’ essential role as the voice of the state’s pediatric health community. 2016 Advocacy efforts included:

  • Informing the policy debate on Medicaid changes leading to DHHS Secretary calling pediatricians the “strongest voice” in Medicaid Reform
  • Advancing policy and practice change at the state and county level to assure more children in the foster care system receive appropriate care in medical homes
  • Providing feedback on proposed CAP-C changes which resulted in waiver being improved
  • Leading an effort to maintain current law for minor consent
  • Submitting official comments on topics including second hand smoke, ZIKA funding, spinal surgery, drug reimbursement levels, lactation and access monitoring review
